What We Believe

About Us

Our Mission

To expand sustainable homeownership by providing education, guided readiness, and responsible pathways that help families purchase and keep homes, while strengthening neighborhoods through long-term community investment.

Our Vision

A future where more families can stay rooted in the communities they serve, build generational wealth responsibly, and pass opportunity forward.

Our Purpose

CAFA exists because the gap between renting and owning has widened. Many families can afford a monthly payment but face upfront barriers, process complexity, or lack of post-closing support. Traditional systems assume people already know the rules. We do not.

How We Help

Our Focus Areas

Financial Readiness

We help families build a clear, practical plan to become mortgage ready with coaching, education, and structure, modeled after counseling first approaches that have helped many households become owners.

Access Pathways

When families are ready, we help connect them to realistic purchase pathways that may include down payment assistance navigation and other community resources, based on eligibility and availability.

Long-Term Stability

Homeownership is not just a purchase. It is a long term responsibility. CAFA supports families after closing with education and check ins designed to reduce surprises and strengthen long term success.

How we will impact communities

Stability for families

When families can remain in place, children experience fewer school disruptions, households can plan ahead, and stress decreases. Stable housing becomes the foundation for better decisions.

Stronger neighborhoods

Long term residents invest time, care, and pride into their streets. They participate in local schools, local business, and civic life. Community cohesion increases when turnover decreases.

Economic mobility

Sustainable homeownership can be a pathway to responsible wealth building over time. Our approach emphasizes affordability and preparedness so that wealth building does not come with avoidable risk.

Preserving affordability for the next family

Where appropriate, CAFA can support stewardship approaches inspired by community land trust concepts, which are designed to protect affordability long term for future income eligible households.

Our Core Values

Dignity & Respect

We honor every family’s experience and meet people where they are, without judgment.

Transparency

We provide clear, honest guidance so families understand their options and responsibilities.

Accountability

We measure success by long-term stability and take responsibility for the outcomes we support.

Community Partnership

We work alongside local organizations to strengthen systems already rooted in the community.

Sustainable Outcomes

We prioritize lasting affordability and preparedness so homeownership remains viable over time.
